Friendships Starts Early in Life
One of my closest friends through the years is Bruce Downing, shown here via a selfie I took on a golf course in Litibu Mexico near Bruce's home in Punta de Burro in Mexico on the north shore of Bahia de Banderas in Puerto Vallarta.
Bruce and I have been friends since we were 5-6 years old. His older brother "Jimbo" taught us both to fly fish when we were kids. Bruce and I joined up later in College at CU in Boulder and tried to get into as much trouble as possible racing our Austin Healy Sprite two-seater sports cars up to Estes Park in the Summers to dance with all the pretty girls from CU who liked to go to "The Rock" ... :-)
Summary Highlights of So Many Others ...
Roy Warren, who at one time I worked for as his data processing manager, who now does our personal & business tax work ... taught me the power of following up and through .... a man of deep faith.
Al Hovland, a dear sailing companion, who fascinated me with his work as a Lockheed engineer supporting early missions to Mars & taught me how to race sailboats.
Our close neighbors, Dave & Paulette Brundage (and their sons Matt & Mark) ... now both retired FBI agents, we reconnect often with updates about our grandkids and fond memories of Christmas Eve's at each other's homes.
Golfing buddies Kerry Phelps, Mike Diefederfer (former eTEK office landlord), Reas Madson & others. The times together on and off the course will always mean a great deal to me. There was never a doubt about our collective wide-ranging opinions about just any subject ... but the common interests of each others families was sincere.
